Mado

A window into your MongoDB — in the browser, on your own network.

Mado is a self-hosted web GUI for MongoDB. Browse databases and collections, run finds and aggregations, use a mongosh-style shell, import and export data, and build queries with an optional AI helper. Its defining feature is zones: an admin grants named users scoped, credential-free access to specific databases — so support staff, analysts and contractors can work in your data without ever holding a connection string. One Docker image, runs entirely inside your network.

€379.00Prices exclude VAT where it applies.

Per major version, per instance. Yours to keep.

What it does.

Zones: scoped, credential-free access

Create a zone, point it at specific databases, and add users with their own logins. They see only those databases and never touch a connection string. Enforced on the server, not just hidden in the UI.

Query, aggregate, shell

A document browser with table and JSON views, an aggregation pipeline builder, and a mongosh-style console. Destructive operations are confirmed; nothing runs by accident.

Import & export, with structure

Export a collection or a whole database to NDJSON or a ZIP that carries indexes, validators and collation. Import restores them — not just the documents. _ids are preserved, so references survive.

Bulk edit

Select rows in the document table to delete or export many at once, with one confirmation.

Optional AI helper, your provider

Turn plain English into queries, pipelines and shell commands. You choose the provider in-app — a self-hosted Ollama on your own network (no data leaves), or a cloud model (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Ollama.com). Off by default; the AI output is a draft you review and run.

Runs inside your network

One Docker image, your database, your infrastructure. Mado never phones home: the licence is verified offline, and with the AI helper disabled nothing leaves your network.

Running in a minute.

Your pull credentials and licence key are on your account page after you start a trial.

# Mado runs as one Docker container. It needs an admin login and at

How licensing works.

Trial
14 days, every feature, no card. Sign in and you get a key and pull access straight away.
After the trial
The tool goes read-only. Your data and setup stay. Add a licence key and it unlocks in place.
Licence
€379.00 per major version, per running instance. Every 1.x update included. Yours to keep.
Refunds
None once a licence key is issued: the tool runs on your servers, so a key can't be taken back. Try it fully first.
Offline
Your key is checked on your own server. Our tools never connect to us, so they work without internet access.

Questions

How is Mado licensed?

A one-off purchase per major version, per instance, perpetual. Your v1 licence runs v1.x forever. A future v2 is a separate purchase; your v1 keeps working.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — a 14-day, full-function trial. After it ends, Mado stays usable in read-only mode (browse and query) until you add a licence; nothing is deleted.

Does my data leave my network?

No. Mado runs entirely inside your network and verifies its licence offline, with no phone-home. The only exception is the optional AI helper, which is off by default and sends prompts to the provider you configure — point it at a self-hosted model to keep everything local.

Can I give people access without sharing database credentials?

Yes — that's what zones are for. An admin grants named users access to specific databases; they log in to Mado and never see or hold a connection string.

What MongoDB versions does it work with?

Any MongoDB you can reach from the container — self-hosted, replica sets, or Atlas (by connection string). Mado talks to it over the standard driver.

Can I get a refund?

The 14-day trial is there to try before you buy. Once a licence is issued it is non-refundable, since the software is delivered in full.

14 days. The whole thing. No card.
